This baby is kind of a prototype. They were rare but a few of these were made in Ash during the late 50's. (Duchossoir's Tele Bible pg. 53). This 1 piece, Swamp Ash, 3 Tone Sunburst, T~Caster Custom was meant to pay tribute to the very 1rst Tele Customs. It was hand cut, routed, bound and finished in my shop in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Weighin in at 6 3/4 lbs soakin wet, it features a late 1950's / early 60's thick, single ply, 8 holed white-guard. I took great pains to make every surface as realistic as possible. Special attention was paid to the detailing on the neck at the back of the headstock and the wear on the busiest areas of the neck's back. The dark rosewood board is smooth, fast & fitted with real clay dots. It's a hand contoured early "C" shape whose edges have been rounded, softened and generally loved upon ala Tadeo. The frets are as quick & slippery as glass. The single line Kluson tuners are aged and pitted to perfection. No chemical wear here brethren. This guitar sounds SUPERB. Loads of honk and sting. Zero "ice-pick" with great toneful mids. The bridge pickup is an early raised pole Fender and it's a registered weapon. The neck pickup is as smoothe as blues. The nut is hand cut and aged. The nail holes, dowels and router hump are spot on. It has a dakaware barrel knob cause I like em. This one just may be my new vice. Yes, my fellow dicsiples of all things musical, these instruments are indeed my last area of weakness. (Oh, a brother can dream can't he?) No, I won't be truely, experiencially, fully free till glory!!!! (I digress) Any way, this puppy kills. Did I mention it's under 7LBS.? I reckon I just might have to lean back with this little sweety, close my eyes, bend somthin and let her prophesy. Sorry folks, this one is not for sale..................Mighty E
